The public has voted Limerick’s Aaron Gillane the GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The Patrickswell man received 4,362 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Clare’s John Conlon (3,995) and Dublin’s Donal Burke (2,617).

Aaron Gillane (Limerick)

Gillane showed great leadership for Limerick in their thrilling Munster SHC victory over Waterford. He scored 0-13, six points of which came from play, and was very much the main man in attack in the absence of injured trio Seamus Flanagan, Peter Casey, and Cian Lynch.

John Conlon (Clare)

Clare centre-back, John Conlon, was the beating heart of their very impressive win over Tipperary. He won a huge amount of ball and lifted the spirits of team-mates and supporters alike with some thundering runs out of defence.

Donal Burke (Dublin)

Gifted sticksman Donal Burke was outstanding for Dublin in their hard-fought Leinster SHC win over Wexford. He scored 12 points, four of them from play, and many of them of the very highest calibre.

Players of the Week are decided based on votes cast by followers of the Official GAA Instagram page.
