It has been an encouraging stint for Waterford, who summoned another impressive display to defeat Longford at Laois Hire O'Moore Park.
Paul Shankey's charges were primed for this encounter with the effective Stephen Curry netting a sixth minute goal to edge the Deise into an early lead.
Longford responded with Aaron Farrell, Darren Gallagher, and Daniel Mimnagh landing fine points before the midlanders' pounced for a goal.
Mimnagh netted the major for Longford, who subsequently pulled five points clear in the first half.
Stephen Curry was in splendid form for Waterford, clipping a point from a free prior to landing a levelling goal as the interval approached.
The teams departed deadlocked 2-5 to 1-8 at the interval with the issue delicately poised.
Alan Dunwoody struck Waterford's third goal when converting a penalty as Waterford's belief increased.
Late on Tholom Guiry's injury time goal sealed the deal as Waterford prevailed.
