The public has voted Galway’s Shane Walsh the GAA.ie Footballer of the Week.

The gifted forward received 14,806 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Kerry’s David Clifford (11,086) and his fellow Tribesman Cillian McDaid (6,025)

Shane Walsh – Galway

Shane Walsh produced an All-Ireland Final performance for the ages. He scored nine points, and the four that came from play were outstanding, bordering on incredible.

David Clifford – Kerry

When Kerry laboured for much of the first half of the All-Ireland SFC Final it was Clifford who kept them in touch with some brilliant point-taking. He finished the match with a personal tally of eight points, including three frees and two marks.

Cillian McDaid – Galway

The midfield powerhouse finished a very impressive season on a high. He scored four points from play and drove Galway forward time and again with his impressive athleticism.
