Tyrone shot Derry to pieces in the first half of Sunday's Ulster SFC Quarter-Final, and **Ronan O'Neill **was the man firing most of the bullets.
He finished with a tally of 2-2 to his name, and the two goals he scored in the first half illustrated just how lethal a finisher the Omagh man is.
His first was a thing of beauty as he sold an outrageous dummy that left two Derry men on the ground and allowed him to kick the ball to an empty net, and then he showed great predatory instincts to follow up a blocked Sean Cavanagh effort and rifle the ball to the back of the net.
O'Neill has been in sparkling form all year, and is now very much the main man in the Tyrone attack.
Roscommon joint-managers Fergal O'Donnell and Kevin McStay have gotten a lot right so far this year, and the recall of Fintan Cregg to the county panel must be high on that list.
Cregg won an All-Ireland minor medal 10 years ago, but on Sunday made his 'home' Championship debut for the senior team against Leitrim and excelled. He scored four points, three of them from play, and his ability to punch holes in the Leitrim half-back line was a major factor in Roscommon's comfortable victory.
Physically powerful and comfortable in front of the posts, the only wonder is it has taken Cregg until now to really establish himself at this level.
Tyrone ripped Derry apart with some sparkling attacking football on Sunday, but their defensive play was just as impressive and that was in a large part thanks to the sweeping of Colm Cavanagh.
Cavanagh first made his name as a midfielder and half-forward, but his reinvention as a sweeper by Mickey Harte has been hugely successful. Tyrone didn't concede a goal against Derry and only conceded three in the League, and Cavanagh's ability to shield the 'D' has played a big part in that defensive solidity.
He was always in the thick of the action on Sunday, disposessing Derry players in the tackle, making interceptions, and launching counter-attacks with his intelligent distribution. He's a really crucial cog in this impressive Tyrone machine.
