A busy weekend of action looms throughout the country with an eagerly anticipated Dublin Senior Football Championship providing eight matches on Saturday.

The meeting of Castleknock and St Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh promises to be lively in Group Four, while the Group 2 battle between St Jude's and Na Fianna should be revealing also.

Ballyboden St Enda's returned to the summit last year and begin the defence of the title against Clontarf in Group 3.

Ballymun Kickhams, with several accomplished inter-county players, will be eager to make a mark when hosting Skerries Harps at Pairc Ciceam.

Offaly rivals Clara and Rhode meet on Saturday, while the Friday evening clash involving holders Ferbane and Edenderry should be interesting too.

Blessington and Baltinglass clash in the Wicklow Senior Football Championship on Saturday.

The Friday evening Cork Senior Football Championship games feature St Finbarr's against Ballincollig, while Nemo Rangers face Valley Rovers.

Douglas versus Bishopstown and Carbery Rangers versus Castlehaven are other Leeside fixtures of note.

Conor McManus celebrates following Clontibret O'Neill's 2019 Monaghan Senior Football Championship win.

In Roscommon Clann na nGael and St Brigid's will both be intent on making a positive start in Group A at Dr Hyde Park on Saturday evening.

On Sunday afternoon Padraig Pearses, buoyed up by last year's triumph, face Boyle, who include the talented Smith brothers.

Tourlestrane have set the standard in Sligo winning four titles in a row, but aren't in action this weekend.

The other teams in Group Two will be striving to put points on the board with Geevagh facing Coolera-Strandhill and Coolaney playing Calry/St Joseph's.

In Leitrim following last weekend's results the meeting of Melvin Gaels and Allen Gaels carries huge importance on Saturday.

On Sunday afternoon Ballybay host Clontibret O'Neills in the Monaghan Senior Football Championship.

Conor McManus inspired Clontibret to success last year, but Ballybay, with the Wylie brothers key figures, contested the 2018 County Final, and will be primed for this battle.

The fixtures involving Lamh Dhearg versus Naomh Eoin and Naomh Eanna against Gort Na Mona will attract significant interest in Antrim.
