Electric Ireland Munster Minor Football Championship Phase One Round Two

Clare v Tipperary, Cusack Park, 6.45pm

Waterford v Limerick, Fraher Field, 7pm

Opening day victories ensure Clare and Tipperary will enter Cusack Park confident ahead of what promises to be an interesting encounter.

Having reached the last couple of provincial deciders at this level Clare took satisfaction from the manner in which they eventually shrugged off Limerick's challenge in Newcastlewest.

A well organised Clare outfit finished strongly with Diarmuid Fahy and Eoin Talty decorating the win netting fine goals in the closing stages.

Shane Meehan's six points and the promising Jamie Stack, who mined 1-3 were others to impress for the Banner.

Tipperary, though, enjoyed a productive outing themseles against Waterford with Paddy Creedon and the prolific Kyle Shelly impressing.

The talented Shelly struck 2-8 for Tipperary, who will face a much tougher test in Ennis.

Waterford will be anxious to respond themselves with Tom O'Connell, Aidan Behan, and Sean battling admirably during the Tipperary reversal.

Eliah Riordan, Michael Southgate, and Shane O'Donoghue were prominent for Limerick in the defeat to Clare.

The Treaty county will hope to earn an away success in Dungarvan, but Waterford know the importance of this fixture also.
