The Louth County Board have announced the appointment of Pete McGrath as their new senior football team manager on a two-year term.

McGrath only stepped down as Fermanagh manager in July after a three year stint with the Erne-siders, but has never been the type to rest on his laurels.

A legend in his native Down for managing the Mourne-men to their All-Ireland titles in 1991 and 1994, McGrath is one of the most respected figures in Gaelic Football.

He'll hope to build on the good work of his predecessor, Colin Kelly, who led Louth to successive promotions in the Allianz Football League that saw them rise from Division Four to Division Two.
