Four attractive Independent.ie Sigerson Cup Quarter-Finals take place this week.

On Wednesday afternoon a highly anticipated contest is scheduled for Jordanstown.

Ryan Cup winners UUJ, featuring Ryan McHugh Paddy McBrearty, host holders UCD in what promises to be a revealing encounter.

UCD, managed by John Divilly, defeated IT Sligo in the last round, while Martin McHugh's UUJ were given a real fright by Garda College before prevailing after extra-time.

St Mary's produced a defiant second half display to overcame NUIG, while DCU have impressed in the competition.

UCC, powered by a string of exciting underage inter-county Kerry and Cork stars, face a tricky assignment in Carlow on Wednesday evening.

On Thursday UL and DIT will both fancy their chances of reaching the Sigerson weekend which is the considerable prize on offer.
