Galway's Matthew Tierney, Kerry's David Clifford, and Sligo U20s Ross Doherty are this week's nominees for GAA.ie Footballer of the Week.

Matthew Tierney (Galway)

Oughterard clubman Matthew Tierney starred as Galway retained the Connacht SFC title following an impressive win over Sligo in Castlebar. The excellent Tierney finished with a 2-7 haul, including 2-5 from play.

David Clifford (Kerry)

It has been a very tough few days for the Clifford family with the sad passing of David and Paudie's mother, Ellen. On Sunday David Clifford scored 2-6 as Kerry defeated Clare in the Munster SFC Final.

Ross Doherty (Sligo U20s)

On Saturday at Pearse Stadium Ross Doherty's wholehearted display was a key factor in Sligo's EirGrid All-Ireland U20 Semi-Final win over Kerry.
