Fitzmaurice to stay on as Kerry manager

Eamonn Fitzmaurice has agreed to remain as Kerry manager for two more years.

Defeated by Dublin in a thrilling All Ireland SFC Semi-Final on August 28 Fitzmaurice has opted to continue as the Kerry boss.

The Kerry County Board released a statement on Tuesday confirming the decision. "At tonight’s Kerry County Committee meeting Eamonn Fitzmaurice has been re-appointed as Kerry senior football team manager for a further two years.

"The Finuge man was first appointed to take charge of the team for the 2013 season and following defeat by Dublin in last year’s All Ireland he committed to stay on for a further year. Tonight’s appointment will see him at the helm for a fifth year in 2017 having led Kerry to foursuccessive Munster titles and an All Ireland title in 2014. 

"Fitzmaurice will reveal his backroom team  at a later date."
