Limerick edged out Tipperary in the EirGrid Munster Under 20 Championship to set up a semi-final meeting against Kerry.

In demanding conditions at Rathkeale Limerick responded in the closing stages after Tipperary had fought back to level matters with two minutes remaining.

At the interval Tipperary led by 0-3 to 0-2, but four points without reply from Limerick ensured the home team seized the initiative.

Under pressure with only 10 minutes left Tipperary summoned a gutsy reply reeling off three points on the spin.

Despite the Tipperary revival, Limerick stayed composed with Barry Coleman supplying the decisive score late on.
