Conor Laverty has been appointed as the new Down senior football manager.

The highly regarded Kilcoo clubman was ratified at Monday evening's meeting of the Down GAA County Committee.

Marty Clarke and Declan Morgan will be involved in the management team with a further member to be announced shortly.

Laverty featured for Down in the 2010 All-Ireland SFC final and has won 10 Down SFC titles with Kilcoo.

Eager to develop emerging talent, Laverty will also remain in charge of the Down U20 team with Darragh O'Hanlon and Conor Gilmore also involved.
