The public has voted Derry’s Conor Doherty the GAA.ie Footballer of the Week.
The talented defender received 3,862 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Dublin’s Brian Fenton (3,326), and Jack McCarron (2,658).
Conor Doherty (Derry)
Derry wing-back Conor Doherty gave a masterclass in both defending and attacking in his team’s dramatic win over Tyrone. His tackling and ability to read the play in defence was super, and he also drove forward to score two classy points.
Brian Fenton (Dublin)
Brian Fenton was at his imperious best as Dublin put Wexford to the sword in the Leinster SFC quarter-final. He scored five points from play and dominated possession in the middle third of the field.
Jack McCarron (Monaghan)
McCarron was class personified in Monaghan’s win over Down. He scored seven points and delighted the crowd with his array of skills in possession of the ball.
