Galway manager Kevin Walsh doesn't expect captain Damien Comer to feature in Sunday's Connacht SFC Final against Roscommon at Pearse Stadium.
Comer is recovering from ankle surgery and is back in light training, but Walsh reckons the Annaghdown clubman won't be available.
"This weekend is probably too soon for him," Walsh remarked at a media event on Monday morning ahead of the western provincial decider.
"He’s back on straight lines so, hopefully, the boys can do the business. He’s back training. In terms of a timeline, hopefully, the next two weeks. Again, it is down to how he reacts."
Walsh also confirmed that Peter Cooke, Sean Kelly, Declan Kyne, Paul Conroy, and Adrian Varley have returned to training, but Ciaran Duggan is ruled out.
Conroy made a welcome return to action for St James in the Galway SFC last month scoring 1-5 against Naomh Anna Leitir Mór.
A doubt also surrounds the participation of Kieran Molloy following a twisted ankle at training last week.
