Kerry have confirmed that Colm Cooper damaged his shoulder ligaments during their Munster Final victory over Tipperary last Sunday.

Cooper was forced off early in the first half of the match, and an MRI scan has subsequently revealed the full extent of the damage. No precise time-frame has been put on his return to action.

A statement released yesterday by the Kerry County Board said: 'An MRI Scan has confirmed that Colm Cooper damaged shoulder ligaments during the Munster Football Final on Sunday last. His rehab work has started and he will resume playing in due course.'
