Ciarán Downey been voted GAA.ie Footballer of the Week.

The Louth forward received 3, 661 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Armagh's Andrew Murnin (3, 201) and Derry's Shane McGuigan (3, 163).

Ciarán Downey (Louth)

Ciarán Downey was outstanding as Louth eventually defeated Offaly in a thrilling Leinster SFC semi-final at Croke Park. Downey registered seven points for Mickey Harte's team.

Andrew Murnin (Armagh)

Andrew Murnin was an instrumental figure as Armagh overcame Down 4-10 to 0-12 in the Ulster SFC semi-final. Murnin scored 1-1 and also created opportunities throughout the game.

Shane McGuigan (Derry)

In brilliant form Shane McGuigan delivered another hugely impressive performance for Derry against Monaghan in the Ulster SFC. McGuigan scored nine points, including four from play.
