The public has voted Ben McCormack the GAA.ie Footballer of the Week.
The in-form Kildare forward received 3,925 votes from the public on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Derry’s Ethan Doherty (3,393) and Dublin’s James McCarthy (1,817)/
Ben McCormack – Kildare
McCormack is in the form of his life at the moment and excelled again for Kildare in their Leinster SFC semi-final win over Westmeath. He scored four booming points in the first half and finished with a personal tally of 0-5.
Ethan Doherty – Derry
Doherty seemed to cover every blade of grass in Derry’s impressive Ulster SFC semi-final win over Monaghan. He made an incredible block to deny what would have been an equalising goal for Monaghan, and set up Benny Heron’s crucial second goal.
James McCarthy – Dublin
The Dublin captain looked fresh and hungry in his team’s dominant Leinster SFC semi-final win over Meath. He took no prisoners in defence as usual, and drove forward to kick two really fine points.
Players of the Week are decided based on votes cast by followers of the Official GAA Instagram page.
