TG4 coverage of final round of Leagues reached audience of over 2 million

TG4’s free-to-air coverage of the final round of the Allianz Hurling and Football Leagues reached a combined audience of over 2 million views across television, streaming and social media, underlining the continued demand for accessible live GAA coverage.

As part of GAA Beo’s Super Saturday and Super Sunday, TG4 delivered comprehensive live coverage from of all games in Division 1 and 2 Football and Division 1A Hurling, along with Division 3 Football, ensuring supporters nationwide could follow the decisive final round of league action free-to-air.

Over 1 Million Tune in Live

Across TG4’s broadcast and digital platforms, over 1,172,000 viewers tuned in to live coverage of 11 GAA games across the weekend:

  • Television: 654,200
  • YouTube: 439,300
  • TG4 Player/App: 79,100

Standout fixtures included:

  • Limerick v Galway (Hurling Division 1A) – 234,000
  • Galway v Dublin (Football Division 1) – 217,800

These figures highlight the strong appetite for high-quality, free-to-air coverage of the Allianz Leagues, with TG4 continuing to deliver key fixtures to the widest possible audience.

Social Media Drives Further 1.1 Million Views

In addition to live coverage, TG4’s social media output generated a further 1,136,029 views across Instagram, Facebook and X, reflecting the growing role of digital platforms in how audiences engage with GAA content.

Among the most popular moments of the weekend:

  • Galway’s missed penalty and subsequent sideline melee (Galway v Dublin) – 158,313 views (X)
  • Sean Ryan’s dramatic late goal to secure promotion for Wexford – 122,427 views (X)

TG4’s GAA Beo coverage continues to play a central role in bringing live Allianz League action to audiences free-to-air, ensuring accessibility for supporters across Ireland and internationally.

Super Saturday and Super Sunday, along with all GAA Beo coverage, are produced for TG4 by Nemeton TV in the Gaeltacht of An Rinn. The production continues to receive industry recognition, with 2025’s ‘Super Sunday’ coverage currently nominated for a 2026 Royal Television Society Award in the category of Live Sport.
