Look out for updates of both finals on the Scór na Munhan and Connacht Scór FB pages. Is cinnte go mbeidh siamsaíocht den chéad scoth le feiceáil ag na babhtaí ceannais seo.

Meanwhile the first meeting of the newly formed Coiste Náisiúnta Scór took place this week. Among the various items ratified was the date for this year’s Scór na nÓg All-Ireland Finals which will take place on Saturday December, the 7th with the venue for the finals to be confirmed at a later date.

Labhair muid le Cathaoirleach nua Choiste Náisiúnta Scór tar éis an chruinnithe. We spoke to the new Coiste Náisiúnta Scór Chairperson, Paula Magee, after the meeting about her plans as Chair for the next three years.

‘Tá ríméad orm a bheith sa ról seo’, a deir Paula. ‘I am absolutely honoured and delighted to be appointed Chair of Coiste Náisiúnta Scór by Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, Jarlath Burns. I am looking forward to leading Coiste Náisiúnta Scór with a great group of people over the next three years. I look forward to taking Scór through a new chapter.

‘For me, I like to home in on the friendships made and the friendly rivalry our competitions give us. I suppose that this is something that would stand high up in my priorities, to further enhance the friendships that happen through the great rivalry of our competitions.’

Regarding a return to Autumn and Spring Scór activity Paula noted;

‘It is great to be realigned and have a set time of the year for Scór and for our members to know what time of the year competitions will be taking place.’

One of the first challenges of the new Coiste will be to explore possibilities of new venues to host this year’s Scór na nÓg finals.

‘I am delighted to be able to confirm that this year’s Scór na nÓg finals will be taking place on the 7th of December’ commented Paula. ‘A new venue is to be sought for Scór na nÓg with the competitions finally back taking place during Autumn months. That will be exciting and especially for younger members with the possibility of an All-Ireland final in the lead up to Christmas. However, it could well be challenging finding a new venue.’

Beidh Babhtaí Ceannais Uladh agus Laighean ar siúl an chéad deireadh seachtaine eile.
