Round-up: Weekend's senior club championship action

Antrim

Following a dramatic weekend of action the pairings for the knockout stages of the Antrim SHC are confirmed. Cushendall and Dunloy are straight through to the semi-finals.

O'Donovan Rossa face St John's in the quarter-finals with the winners set to meet Cushendall. On the other side of the draw, Loughgiel clash with Ballycastle with Dunloy awaiting the victors.

Armagh

In Group B the Armagh SFC, Cullyhanna staged a dramatic comeback to defeat Mullaghbawn 1-16 to 1-13, earning a place in the quarter-finals.

Carlow

Éire Óg and Old Leighlin played out an exciting 2-16 to 3-13 draw in the Carlow SFC. In the other Group One encounter, Rathvilly were comfortable winners against Mount Leinster Rangers.

Palatine were always in control against Bagenalstown Gaels, while Tinryland edged out Fenagh in Group Two.

Cavan

It was a busy weekend of SFC action in Cavan with Arva, Cavan Gaels, Mullahoran, Ballinagh, and Gowna all securing wins, while Kingscourt Stars and Crosserlough drew.

Clare

There was no shortage of drama in a highly competitive.

The quarter-finals were packed with excitement and the two semi-finals should be similarly interesting. Éire Óg will face Kilmaley, while Ballyea meet Cloney-Quin, who dethroned Feakle in impressive fashion. Morgan Garry and Tony Kelly netted goals in Ballyea's fine win over Clonlara.

Cork

After the final round of group games, the knockout stages of the Cork SHC have been confirmed. Blackrock are straight through to the semi-finals where they will face the winners of Sarfields and Charleville.

Midleton meet Glen Rovers, while Imokilly's clash against St Finbarrs will also be worth monitoring.

Derry

Slaughtneil, seeking to make it 13-in-a-row in the Derry SHC, were convincing winners over Lavey by 0-25 to 0-14. A semi-final against Swatragh awaits.

In the other last four encounter, Balinascreen will meet Kevin Lynchs.

Donegal

Gaoth Dobhair, Dungloe, Kilcar, and St Michael's are all straight through to the quarter-finals of the Donegal SFC.

Down

Downpatrick produced a dynamic display to knock Mayobridge out of the Down SFC, 4-14 to 1-15. James and Daniel Guinness starred in Carryduff's victory Glenn, while Castlewellan eventually overcame Bryansford.

Dublin

The Dublin SFC is proving to be very competitive once again with the quarter-final pairings confirmed. Dean Rock starred in Ballymun Kickhams' triumph over Whitehall Colmcille.

Castleknock staged a brilliant comeback against Templeogue Synge Street, while Na Fianna's 1-16 to 1-15 win over Ballinteer St John's earned them a place in the last eight.

Fermanagh

Derrygonnelly Harps received a tough test from Belnaleck, but still prevailed 0-16 to 0-14 winners. Ederney edged out Teemore, while Kinawley drew with Belleek, Lisnaskea Emmetts defeated Enniskillen Gaels.

Galway

Group winners St Thomas', Craughwell, Clarinbridge, and Oranmore-Maree are directly through to the Galway SHC quarter-finals.

Kerry

Na Gaeil and Dr Crokes will meet in the Kerry Club Senior Championship Final next Sunday at Austin Stack Park.

Crokes defeated Kenmare Shamrocks 0-17 to 1-9, while an emerging Na Gaeil outfit beat Rathmore by the narrowest of margins, 0-16 to 2-9.

Fossa and An Ghaeltacht advanced to the Intermediate Club Championship Final which will also be played in Tralee on September 14.

Kildare

Athy, Celbridge, Maynooth, Sarsfields, Clane, Kilcock, Caragh, and Eadestown all registered Kildare SFC wins.

Moorefield will meet Maynooth in the preliminary quarter-finals, with Johnstownbridge set to clash with Eadestown.

Laois

The knockout pairings for the Laois SHC have been confirmed.

Rosenallis face Ballinakill in one preliminary quarter-final, while Borris-Kilcotton meet Camross.

At the semi-final stage Clough-Ballacolla will provide the opposition for the winners of Rosenallis and Ballinakill. Rathdowney-Erill will battle with whoever prevails between Borris-Kilcotton and Camross.

Limerick

Galtee Gaels, Rathkeale, Mungret St Paul's, and Adare registered Limerick SFC wins, while Newcastle West and St Kieran's divided the spoils.

John Hayes converted a last gasp free for St Kieran's against an Eoin Hurley inspired Newcastle West.

London

Seán Traceys proved too strong for Fr Murphy's, while Brothers Pearse defeated Robert Emmets 0-21 to 0-11 in the London SHC on Sunday.

The previous afternoon St Gabriel's produced an impressive performance to beat Kilburn Gaels, 4-19 to 3-9.

Longford

Wolfe Tones beat Clonguish Gaels convincingly to book a place against Longford Slashers in the Longford SHC Final.

In the Longford SFC Killoe Emmet Óg were 2-10 to 0-12 winners over Colmcille

Louth

Cooley-Kickhams won a Louth SFC thriller against Dundalk Gaels, 0-20 to 2-13.

There was drama at the Integral GAA Grounds too as Naomh Máirtín beat Newtown Blues, 4-13 to 1-21.

Mayo

It was another busy weekend in the Mayo SFC with the quarter-final pairings now confirmed.

Frank Irwin scored five points as holders Ballina defeated Garrymore. Liam Durkan netted a couple of goals as Knockmore defeated Mayo Gaels. Breaffy denied Belmullet top spot in their group, will now be at home against Westport in the last eight.

Meath

Ratoath, Blackhall Gaels, Kiltale, Na Fianna, Kilmessan, and Killyon all registered wins in the Meath SHC.

Monaghan

Magheracloone, Inniskeen, and Scotstown registered Monaghan SFC wins.

Inniskeen advanced to the semi-finals following a four point win over Latton.

Offaly

Birr and Belmont have both earned spots in the Offaly SHC semi-finals. Kilcormac-Killoughey drew with Shinrone ensuring Belmont advanced directly to the last four.

At the quarter-final stage Coolderry meet Shinrone, while Ballinamere clash with Kilcormac-Killoughey in a fortnight.

Roscommon

In the Roscommon SHC quarter-finals, St Dominic's and Padraig Pearses earned victories.

Elphin overcame North Roscommon in the Roscommon SFC preliminary quarter-finals, while Castlerea beat Western Gaels in a relegation play-off.

Western Gaels now face St Dominic's in the relegation play-off final.

Sligo

Shamrock Gaels will meet St Mary's in the Sligo SFC semi-finals.

The other last four clash features Drumcliffe-Rosses Point and Coolera-Strandhill.

Tipperary

Thurles Sarsfields overcame Cashel King Cormacs 0-25 to 1-19, but it wasn't enough to secure a place in the knockout stages of the Tipperary SHC.

Nenagh Éire Óg topped that group following a 2-23 to 2-11 success over Mullinahone.

Clonoulty/Rossmore, Kilruane MacDonaghs, Borris-Ileigh, Loughmore-Castleiney, and Drom-Inch also earned Tipperary SHC wins at the weekend.

Waterford SHC

Ballygunner defeated Mount Sion in the Waterford SHC Final. Click here for a match report.

Westmeath

Mullingar Shamrocks defeated local rivals St Loman's 2-14 to 1-16 in the Westmeath SFC.

Tyrellspass enjoyed a 1-13 to 0-10 triumph over Corlastown-Kinnegad, while The Downs beat Athlone.

Killucan overcame Tang and Moate All-Whites netted three goals in a victory against St Malachy's.

Wexford

Rathnure, St Martin's, St Anne's, and Faythe Harries have all advanced to the Wexford SHC quarter-finals following the weekend's action.
