Roscommon 1-13 Mayo 3-7

Galway 2-16 Leitrim 0-13

The spoils were divided at Dr Hyde Park following a thrilling encounter between Roscommon and Mayo.

Early on the hosts conceded three goals inside 17 minutes to trail 3-2 to 1-1, but Noel Dunning's charges responded impressively.

At half-time Mayo led 3-3 to 1-6 with Roscommon enjoying an impessive second period.

Niall Hurley and Finbar McLoughlin netted goals for Mayo before Shane McGinley replied with a Roscommon major.

Then, Darragh Beirne added a third Mayo goal to edge them seven clear.

Roscommon, though, finished the opening half strongly narrowing the gap to three.

In the closing stages Ryan Conlon reduced the margin to the minimum, and McGinley supplied the leveller.

At Duggan Park, Galway, managed by Derek Savage, overcame a spirited Leitrim challenge.

Jack Folan's brilliant goal helped edge Galway into a 1-9 to 0-7 advantage at the turnaround.

After the restart Leitrim remained competitive, but Matthew Thompson's late goal sealed Galway's win.
