University of Galway 3-20 UCD 1-7

MTU Cork enjoyed a hugely impressive win over Leeside rivals UCC at the Mardyke.

With Alan Walsh effective, MTU Cork delivered a vibrant opening period display.

Before the interval UCC's Shane Kingtson and MTU Cork's Aaron McEvoy traded goals.

At the break, MTU Cork led by four points, but after the restart they pulled further clear with Diarmuid Healy and Ryan Deasy prominent.

Ben Cunningham finished with a nine point haul for UCC, but a determined MTU Cork outfit earned the spoils.

In Dangan, University of Galway, prompted by Tipperary's Sam O'Farrell, overcame UCD.

The Nenagh Éire Óg clubman scored 1-8 for Frank Lohan's outfit, who were 1-13 to 1-11 ahead at half-time.

David Purcell scored UCD's major, but Charlie Mitchell and Ter Guinan struck goals for University of Galway.
