Allianz Football League Division Four

Wicklow 0-14 Waterford 0-9

Leitrim 2-19 London 1-20

Longford 1-27 Antrim 1-14

Carlow 1-17 Tipperary 1-14

Leitrim staged a dramatic comeback at Ruislip with Barry McNulty the man of the moment as they came from 10 points behind at half-time to claim the victory.

Substitute McNulty hit no less than six two pointers from play (12 points) in an astonishing display of shooting, while Tom Prior grabbed a goal at the start of the second half that sparked the fightback.

Micheal O’Reilly hit the net for London in the first half, but Fergal O’Loughlin goaled for Leitrim, while Joe McGill finished with 0-9 for London.

Elsewhere, Carlow moved clear at the top of the division with their third win out of three.

Joe Murphy’s men are in fine form and are two points clear of Wicklow, Leitrim and Longford. Colm Hulton hit five points from play, while Chris Blake shot 0-7, with 0-2 coming from play.

The key moment was Carlow goalkeeper Ben McCarron’s 64th minute penalty save from Sean O’Connor.

Carlow face bottom side Waterford next weekend and will look to take another step towards promotion, with Tipp going to Longford.

The final Division 4 game of the day saw struggling Antrim crash to a 13 point home defeat by Longford at Portglenone.

Mark Doran’s Saffrons have no points from three games and are joint bottom of Division 4 alongside Waterford. They’ve also lost to Carlow and Tipperary.

Adam Loughran shot a first half goal for Antrim and Pat Shivers hit a brace of two pointers after the break, but Mike Solan’s Longford had threats throughout their attack.

Oran Kenny hit six points from play, Daniel Reynolds shot 0-4 from play and Matthew Carey finished with 1-9, including 1-2 from play as Longford made it back to back wins and moved onto four points.

Wicklow kept their promotion hopes alive, finishing strongly at Cappoquin Logistics Fraher Field on Saturday evening.

Oisin McConville’s men were inspired by the evergreen Dean Healy, who shot three points, while Dermot Ryan was Waterford’s driving force with four points.

Waterford have now lost three out of three and any hopes they might have harboured of promotion now look a long shot.

They had James Walsh sent off late on after he got a yellow and a black card in seconds, which was followed by a red.

Despite only hitting 14 points in the awful conditions they had a good spread of scorers with seven players finding the target.
