AIB Ulster Club SFC Final

Kilcoo v Scotstown, BOX-IT Athletic Grounds, 6.15pm

Another intriguing provincial decider beckons.

There has been no shortage of entertainment in recent weeks and this eagerly anticipated encounter should provide further drama.

Since last triumphing at this level back in 1989, Scotstown have been beaten in three Ulster finals. So, this game carries huge significance.

Kilcoo, dominant in Down for a long stretch, gleaned provincial crowns in 2019 and 2021, but they defeats suffered in 2012, 2016, 2022, and 2024 hurt.

Undoubtedly, the stakes are piled high between two clubs, who are nicely stocked with accomplished and experienced footballers.

Last year in a provincial semi-final clash, Kilcoo cruised to a surprisingly comfortable win over Scotstown.

A brilliant burst that yielded four goals in eight minutes illustrated Kilcoo's smooth running style with Miceal Rooney influential in that tussle.

Ryan, Shealan, and Jerome Johnston were other prominent figures for Kilcoo, who will be determined to deliver a similarly dynamic display.

For Scotstown, Rory Beggan continues to contribute, while Conor McCarthy, Shane Carey, Jack McCarron, Kieran and Darren Hughes bring leadership and quality.

Considering their excellent recent record in Monaghan, with 10 titles gleaned since 2013, this is a crucial game for Scotstown on the Ulster stage.
