Sunday January 19

AIB All-Ireland Club SFC Final

Cuala v Errigal Ciaran, Croke Park, 3.40pm, TG4

This should be a lively affair between two clubs liberally sprinkled with class footballers.

The O'Callaghan brothers will need to be watched, while the Canavans carry a potent attacking threat at the other end of the pitch.

With accomplished supporting casts available to Cuala and Errigal Ciaran, this really does promise to be a gripping game.

Errigal Ciaran have proven adept at winning tight games, perfectly demonstrated during a thrilling triumph over Dr Crokes at Cedral St Conleth's Park.

Another Peter Óg McCartan point from range was included for good measure, while the Canavans buzzed about craving involvement, while also landing gorgeous scores.

Against Coolera-Strandhill, Peadar Ó Cofaigh Byrne and Michael Fitzsimons led by example as Cuala accumulated a healthy advantage.

A burst of western defiance brought Coolera-Strandhill back into contention, but then Con O'Callaghan dictated the closing stages, guiding Cuala to victory.

Enda McGinley and Austin O'Malley's efforts with these two outfits deserves the utmost praise and respect.

Errigal have impressivey delivered outside of Tyrone, eking out narrow wins in hard fought matches.

Since hoisting the red and white flag on the summit of the Dublin club game, Cuala's adventure in Leinster was admirable.

Hoisting the Andy Merrigan Cup at GAA headquarters is the ambition now for Errigal and Cuala.
