Paul Madden will take charge of the Clare senior football team on a three-year term.
Clare GAA confirmed Madden's appointment as manager on Tuesday evening. "Paul is a wonderful ambassador for Clare football and has brought sustained success to his club Éire Óg at senior level," the statement said.
Madden succeeds Peter Keane, who recently departed after one campaign with the Banner county.
"It is often said what an honour it is to manage an inter-county team...never more so when it is your own county," Madden remarked.
"There will be many challenges ahead, however, there is no doubt that through hard work, a positive attitude and above all a fantastic group of footballers in Clare we will meet the challenge head on."
