Irish Life and the GAA have launched Healthy Habits, a free four-week wellbeing programme designed to help people across Ireland make small, sustainable changes to support their health and wellbeing.
Delivered through the Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs programme, Healthy Habits focuses on three key areas of wellbeing: Healthy Eating, Mental Fitness and Physical Activity. Running from the 14th of September to 10the October, Healthy Habits will provide practical guidance, expert advice and simple tips designed to help Gaelic Games volunteers and the wider community to build healthier habits that fit into everyday life.
Healthy Habits was created in response to a challenge consistently highlighted through Irish Life's wellbeing research. While many people want to improve their health and wellbeing, and often understand the changes they should make, turning those intentions into sustainable behaviours can be much more difficult. Healthy Habits aims to bridge that gap by making wellbeing advice accessible and practical.
Designed with the busy lives of Gaelic Games volunteers in mind, the programme offers simple and achievable ways to build healthy habits into everyday life, while recognising the important role volunteers play in their clubs and communities. Each week, participants will have access to new content focused on one of the programme's three pillars, helping them take manageable steps towards healthier lifestyles without requiring major changes to their daily routines.
People who register for the programme will be entered into a draw to win €100 for themselves and €1,000 for their local GAA club, helping to extend the benefits of participation beyond the individual and into the wider community.
The programme follows the success of the 2026 Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs Steps Challenge, which saw more than 39,000 participants across over 1,000 clubs among all 32 counties collectively walk 6.9 million kilometres. The challenge highlighted the important role clubs continue to play in supporting the physical, mental and social wellbeing of communities throughout Ireland.
