Jake Morris is this week's GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

Jake Morris has been voted GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The livewire Tipperary forward received 2,472 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Cork’s William Buckley (2,421) and Clare’s Eibhear Quilligan (1,055).

Jake Morris (Tipperary)

Jake Morris picked up where he left off last year with a display of real leadership in the Tipperary attack against Galway. In a match of fine margins and on a miserable night for hurling his five points from play and ability to win hard ball made the difference.

William Buckley (Cork)

William Buckley was Cork’s sole League debutant in their impressive victory over Waterford and looked to the manor born. He scored 1-4 from play and his work off the ball to harry and hassle Waterford defenders coming out with the sliotar was also very eye-catching.

Eibhear Quilligan (Clare)

Eibhear Quilligan was a central figure for Clare in their narrow victory over Dublin. He made three outstanding second-half saves including a brilliant stop from Donal Burke’s penalty which he somehow turned over the bar.

Players of the Week are decided based on votes cast by followers of the Official GAA Instagram page.
