Ireland panels announced ahead of Shinty-Hurling/Camogie Internationals

The panels for the 2026 Shinty-Hurling/Camogie Internationals have been announced ahead of this Saturday's double-header at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

An Ireland camogie team will face their Scottish counterparts at 4pm, before the hurling side face Scotland at 6pm.

Managers Ger Manley (camogie) and Eamon O'Shea (hurling) have confirmed their panels following trials in recent weeks, with Cork's Ashling Thompson and Kilkenny's Mikey Butler named as team captains.

The hurling selection is a strong one that features a combination of high-profile Liam MacCarthy Cup players along with some of the most outstanding performers in the Joe McDonagh, Christy Ring, Nickey Rakard, and Lory Meagher Cups this year.

Cork hurling supporters will be afforded an opportunity to show their appreciation for Seamus Harnedy, who recently announced his retirement from inter-county hurling after a 15-year career.

He along with others like Cian O’Sullivan (Dublin), Andrew Ormonde (Tipperary), Pearse Óg McCrickard (Down), Darragh Neary (Galway) Aaron Dunphy (Laois), and Luca McCusker (Fermanagh) should ensure Ireland won’t lack for firepower.

Antrim’s Gerard Walsh is the only player who played in last year’s victory over Scotland who is involved again this year and will be a key figure in a defence that features other stand-out talents like team captain Mikey Butler, Ian Shanahan (Laois), Patrick Turner (Derry), and Joe Murray (Leitrim).
