Each of the five weeks of Events Month prizes will be awarded to the most active schools. There will be four School Sports Equipment Packs and a set of jerseys given to the most active schools each week.

GAA/Oide Future Leaders National Coordinator Eoghan Hanley is looking forward to Events Month 2026:

He said: “We are delighted with how Events Month has really grown over the last number years. We started in 2022 and in a way, it was to encourage schools to start organising Future Leaders events in the aftermath of Covid19 restrictions.

“There were just over 16,000 students involved in events over the course of the month in 2022 which was great. It has grown steadily since and last year we have over 25,000 involved. We would love to beat that number again this year.

“There are 415 schools doing the GAA/Oide Future Leaders Programme this year, and we would love if as many of those schools as possible could get involved in Events Month as there as benefits to the students and the schools involved on so many levels, and there are also great prizes to be won each week!”
