Electric Ireland Munster Minor Hurling Championship

CORK 3-18 WATERFORD 0-12

A very impressive Cork minor hurling team proved too good for Waterford in Dungarvan this evening.

Mark O'Brien was the key man in attack for the young Rebels, shooting 1-9, with 1-2 of that from play.

He was ably assisted by Adam Lee and Jack Hegarty who both bagged 1-1, while Luke Murphy also caught the eye with a three-point haul.

Cork grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck from the very start and it already looked over as a contest when they led by 10 points after 21 minutes.

Waterford rallied somewhat towards the end of the first half but still trailed by 2-8 to 0-7 by the break.

O'Brien struck for Cork's third goal midway through the second-half and the victors coasted home from there.
