Electric Ireland Minor Football Championship Quarter-Final
Cork 3-19 Meath 1-12
Cork advanced to the penultimate stage of the Electric Ireland MFC following a convincing win over Meath at FBD Semple Stadium.
The Munster standard bearers were always in control with goalkeeper Rory Twohig an influential figure.
Twohig's splendid kicking was a feature of the game, contributing 0-9, including three two pointers from frees.
Early on Cork seized the initiative with Joe Miskella and Twohig landing fine scores from distance as they departed 0-13 to 0-3 ahead at the interval.
Eoghan Ahern pounced to net a Cork goal immediately after the restart following a sharp pass from Jacob Barry.
Kieran O'Shea added a second goal for Cork, who moved 2-14 to 0-5 in the 38th minute.
Harry McGuirk trimmed the deficit, supplying a major for Meath, but Miskella struck back for Cork, who cruised to victory.
