Croke Park unveils major renovation of meeting and event spaces
Croke Park has recently completed a major renovation of its meeting and event spaces which includes the full refurbishment of the stadium's two flagship suites in the Hogan Stand and the development of four new luxury All-Star Suites.
The Irish design and construction team who were led by John Henry Boyle from 21 Spaces, Andrew Leonard of Lighting Design Associates and K&J Townmore Construction, took three months to complete the transformation and the final result offers cutting edge technology within contemporary event spaces to agencies, corporations and associations.
During this renovation, Croke Park has invested heavily in a new IPTV and signage infrastructure which has been installed across the stadium's network of 280 video displays and projectors. The system will allow customised branding and signage in the form of high definition multimedia content to be deployed at any screen location. The infrastructure will also support live broadcasting of presentations from the main event suites into breakout and lounge areas throughout the stadium.
The stadium's new lighting system was designed by Andrew Leonard and Croke Park's Hogan Suite, which can cater for up to 2,000 guests, is now fitted out with a comprehensive LED lighting package, including a stunning LED ceiling feature, which includes a vast array of programmable colour and pattern options as well as a motorised trussing system infrastructure.
The audio visual facilities of the Hogan Suite have also been completely upgraded and include the installation of a new Tannoy VLS Series Column Array Speaker System with a sleek and discrete appearance to compliment the suite's visual aesthetic while delivering high quality sound. Two Lumen HD Panasonic DLP devices projecting onto edgeless screens have also been installed.
Irish carpet designers Ulster Carpets, have provided nearly 1,000 square feet of carpet for the stadium renovations and bespoke Irish artwork and installations were designed to both celebrate some of the GAA's most iconic sporting heroes and evoke the emotional qualities of the stadium and its games.
Speaking about the renovation works, Mark Dorman, Head of Stadium Business, said, "Croke Park now has 110 event spaces that can host everything from small, intimate business meetings up to large corporate and social events for up to 2,000 guests. We are no stranger to big international occasions having hosted the Special Olympics and the visit of Queen Elizabeth ll. The improvements we have introduced within the stadium over the summer months will ensure that Croke Park Meetings and Events continues to be a world-class events destination."
The newly renovated suites and event spaces will be formally unveiled at the official launch of Croke Park Meetings and Events on Wednesday, October 7th which will be attended by over 500 invited guests. Previous high profile conferences and meetings in the stadium have included the 2012 European Union of Supported Employment Conference, the 2013 International Law Enforcement IP Crime Conference and recently the VTE Conference in September 2015. Upoming high profile future events include the Ocean Energy Europe in October 2015; the Hive Conference in April 2016 and the International Association of Credit Portfolio Managers scheduled for May 2016.
Croke Park Stadium has over 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting space which includes 110 meeting and breakout rooms and 8 large capacity suites that can cater for up to 2,000 guests. All of the stadium's meeting spaces feature advanced audio-visual capabilities and full banquet and catering services. There are also 600 car parking spaces available at the stadium which is only a 15 minute drive from the airport or 5 minutes from Dublin's city centre.
Croke Park Stadium is also a leader in sustainable development and was the first stadium in the UK and Ireland to secure ISO14001 (Certification for Environmental Management) and ISO 20121 (Certification for Sustainable Events) standards in 2012.
