The countdown is on to the explosion of Gaelic games action that will mark the 2025 John West Féile finals at GAA venues all over Ireland later this month.
The cream of club talent at u15, having won the right to represent their county, will be showcasing their skills with hurling and camogie taking place on June 21, and boys and girls Gaelic football happening on June 28.
Féile is an integral part of the GAA games development calendar and has been a rite of passage for young players since it was first held as a hurling festival in Tipperary in 1971 and has gone from strength to strength for more than 50 years since.
Division 1 action will take place across Wexford in hurling and camogie this year, with Derry being the setting for the Division 1 football finals.
Regional competitions will bring hurlers to eight different venues across all four provinces, and there are nine regional Feile competitions in football stretching from Antrim to Cork and from Mayo to Wicklow.
Earlier this year tens of thousands of club players battled for the right to make these national and regional events and the young stars who make up these lucky teams in these finals have a golden opportunity to put their club on the map all while putting their skills on display.
In addition, the international dimension to John West GAA Féile continues to reflect the growing expansion of World GAA.
Teams representing New York (Football & Hurling), Boston North East, London (Football & Hurling), Hertfordshire, Lancashire, Warwickshire, Scotland, Europe, San Francisco and Chicago will all be taking part as the status of Féile continues to grow.
As John West proudly marks 10 years of sponsoring Féile, Today FM is inviting GAA communities across Ireland to take part in a very special competition to shine a light on unsung Féile heroes in your club – those who go the extra mile to support, inspire, and keep the spirit of the GAA alive.
Nominating your local hero could net your club a €2,000 prize.
