  • The establishment of appropriate structures at Club, County, Provincial and National Level

  • The development of appropriate policy to equip those same structures with strong support

  • The production of realistic plans and strategies for all levels

  • The tools and resources necessary for the successful completion of the goals outlined in our plans

Mission, Vision & Values

Mission

The GAA Community & Health Promotion department’s mission is to use the community based, volunteer driven structures of the GAA to improve the health and well-being of the communities in which we are situated, at every stage of life (while ensuring the overall mission of the Association is also delivered upon.)

Vision

Our vision is to place health promotion on the agenda at every level of the Association, not only in dealing with topical issues but also as a part of the strategic future of the Association at club, county, provincial and national levels.

Delivery Framework

Our Delivery Framework is base on the primary headings for this section.

This framework uses the methodology of the 4 building blocks/pillars. This framework was adapted from best practice in health promotion. It is designed to suit any GAA club/county.

Plan – this sets out what we want to achieve, how we intend to achieve it, details our vision and allows us to prepare for the other stages.

Partners – these are the groups from within the club membership (parents / coaches /club executive etc.) or from outside the club (school / community groups / local council) working with you to achieve a common goal.

Activity – this is the actions that will take place as a part of or as a result of your work.

The Club – this is the change that take place to the physical and cultural environment of the club as a part of or as a result of your work.
