Gaelic games clubs are being encouraged to participate in the national Go Games blitz weekends this September.

Gaelic games clubs are invited to host an U8 Go Games Football or Hurling/Camogie blitz this September.

The Football blitzes will take place on the weekend of Saturday/Sunday September 12/13 with the Hurling/Camogie blitzes taking place the following weekend, Saturday/Sunday September 19/20.

Over 150 clubs have already expressed an interest in hosting a blitz and any other club who has an interest in doing should fill out this form - National U8 Blitz Events - September 2026 – Fill in form.

We would appreciate if the Microsoft Form could be submitted at least 10 days before your blitz date.

The focus of these Go Games blitzes should always be on providing a positive and enjoyable experience for every child. We encourage clubs to ensure that the day includes:

  • Fun and enjoyment for all.
  • Maximum participation.
  • Where possible, more than one team per club to maximise playing opportunities and reduce the need for substitutes.
  • Small-sided games (max: 6 v 6).
  • Meaningful playing time for every child.
  • A positive, child-centred environment.
  • Opportunities to bring clubs (from within or outside of your county/province), families and communities together.
  • If possible, add to the atmosphere with music or special guests such as county players or managers to make the day even more memorable.
