The Cork forward received 8,035 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Clare's David McInerney (2,816), and Limerick's Aaron Gillane (2,316).

In an epic encounter at Croke Park on Sunday Brian Hayes starred for Cork in the win over Limerick. The St Finbarr's clubman struck 1-4 for Pat Ryan's outfit during an absorbing match.
David McInerney (Clare)
Clare finished with a flourish against Kilkenny with David McInerney outstanding throughout. The experienced Banner stalwart was an influential figure for Brian Lohan's team.
Aaron Gillane (Limerick)
Aaron Gillane, the classy Limerick forward, struck 0-10, including six from play against Cork. Patrickswell clubman Gillane impressed once again at GAA headquarters.
