Meetings of An Coiste Bainistíochta and Ard Chomhairle took place last night and today respectively and the following decisions were taken:

  • An Coiste Bainistíochta signed off on compliance with the Sport Ireland Sports Governance Code having considered the supporting evidence put to it by Internal Audit and the Audit & Risk Committee
  • An Ethics & Integrity Commission was established; its function is to oversee, promote and investigate (where necessary) ethical and integrity standards in relation to Association and Member activity, other than Misconduct at Games by Players or Team Officials, either of its own volition or on foot of a referral to it by any Unit
  • A Volunteering Task Force was established to drive transformation and modernisation of the volunteer side of the GAA’s administrative structure at county level with a view to making county volunteers experience more sustainable and rewarding
  • The Codes Drafting Report prepared by the Rules Advisory Committee arising from the passing of Motions at the last meeting was approved; the updated Official Guide Part 1 and Codes will be circulated early next week
  • It was agreed to utilise the Smart sliotar in the senior, intermediate and junior club semi-finals and finals in 2025
  • The Code of Trustees was updated on foot of legal advice
