Cork's Alan Connolly is this week's GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The public has voted Cork’s Alan Connolly this week’s GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The Cork forward received 2,344 votes on the GAA's official Instagram page which put him ahead of Limerick’s Adam English (2,014) and Down’s Daithi Sands (1,598).

Alan Connolly (Cork)

For the second match in a row, Alan Connolly struck a hat-trick of goals for the Cork hurlers, this time in a comfortable victory over Wexford. The in-form target-man finished the game with a personal tally of 3-3.

Adam English (Limerick)

One of the rising stars of Limerick hurling, English did his claims for a starting spot in John Kiely’s championship XV a lot of good with a very impressive performance in their draw against Galway. In difficult playing conditions, the lively attacker struck five sweet points.

Daithi Sands (Down)

The in-form Daithi Sands was superb again for the Down hurlers at the weekend. He scored 3-3 from play in a victory over Meath that secured a place in the Division 2A semi-final for the Mourne men.

Players of the Week are decided based on votes cast by followers of the Official GAA Instagram page.
