The 30th edition of A Season of Sundays was officially launched last night ahead of the festive season by the GAA President, Jarlath Burns.

For the past 30 years, Sportsfile’s A Season of Sundays has been the definitive pictorial record of the GAA season. With a stunning collection of images, captured by Sportsfile’s award-winning photographers, A Season of Sundays manages to capture the magic of the GAA, the perfect gift for the GAA supporter in your life this Christmas.

Sportsfile are once again very grateful for Forvis Mazars’ continued partnership on A Season of Sundays, as they enter their second year of sponsorship.

This year’s cover picture, by Stephen McCarthy, features Mayo captain Jack Coyne and his team-mates celebrating with the Sam Maguire Cup as they race to greet their supporters on Hill 16. This contrasts to the breaking hurls of Stephen McDonagh of Limerick and Aidan Flanagan of Tipperary, by Brendan Moran, which featured on the first cover.

Speaking at the launch, the book’s publisher and Sportsfile founder, Ray McManus, said; “I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the talented team at Sportsfile, who work tirelessly, often in challenging conditions, to capture the special moments that define each GAA season.

My appreciation also goes to Alan Milton of the GAA for his wonderful captions, which bring each image to life and so beautifully convey the stories, significance and emotion behind them.

I am delighted that GAA President Jarlath Burns is able to join us this evening, and I would also like to acknowledge and thank our sponsors, Forvis Mazars, for their continued generosity and support. Their commitment plays a vital role in making this project possible, and we are extremely grateful for their ongoing partnership.”

Uachtarán CLG Jarlath Burns said, “The closing stages of another hectic and memorable year in Cumann Lúthchleas Gael is accompanied by the publication of another edition of ‘A Season of Sundays’ and this one is particularly special in what is the 30th year Ray McManus and Sportsfile have delivered it to us.
“What a year it is to reach such a milestone edition.

Needless to say, Sportsfile’s photographers were in situ to capture all of the drama generated by the Mayo footballers and Limerick hurlers, but they were also on location for the embryonic stages of season ’26 and right throughout our championships.

“Their outstanding and widely acknowledged ability to capture unique images that cut to the essence of our games make this publication a collector’s item and must-have for legions of Gaelic games followers, year-in, year-out.

“Comhghairdeas do Ray McManus and all at Sportsfile and a special word of thanks to Forvis Mazars for their continued support of this project.”

Speaking of Forvis Mazars' sponsorship, Forvis Mazars managing partner Tom O’Brien said; “For 30 years, Ray McManus and the Sportsfile team have captured much more than the action on the pitch.

They have illustrated the passion, pride and sense of community that make Gaelic games so unique and such a special part of Irish life. The 30th edition of A Season of Sundays is a tribute to the extraordinary skill and dedication of the Sportsfile team and to the players and supporters whose stories fill its pages.

“Forvis Mazars is proud to support this wonderful publication and to celebrate this fantastic milestone with Ray and his team.”

An ideal gift for any GAA fan, the book is available at bookstores nationwide and online at www.sportsfile.com and is priced at €29.95.
