Bernadette Glancy and Mary Flynn

Bernadette Glancy and Mary Flynn talk about their involvement in ladies sports in Leitrim, although neither of them is from the area originally. Bernadette talks mostly about her involvement since 2000 when a ladies adult team was re-established. She explains how she got involved in the Féile competition and how this led to her moving on to the administrative positions at County Board level. Mary begins by telling of her time playing camogie in the 1970s. She goes on to describe her role in administration and her involvement with school teams. Both ladies talk about the relationship between ladies teams and the GAA, both at a local and national level. They talks about their families’ involvement in Gaelic games and the importance of the Association in their lives.
