Galway were fortunate to survive a serious Connacht SFC scare at Markievicz Park against Sligo with Rob Finnerty's last gasp goal the decisive moment. Salthill-Knocknacarra clubman Finnerty impressed for the Tribesmen, registering 1-5.
Daire Ó Baoill (Donegal)
Donegal produced a dynamic display to beat Derry in the Ulster SC. The lively Daire Ó Baoill was an influential figure, contributing 2-1.
Ryan O'Donoghue (Mayo)
The in form Ryan O'Donoghue starred again for Mayo against Roscommon in the Connacht SFC at Dr Hyde Park. O'Donoghue finished with a 0-7 haul for Kevin McStay's outfit.
