GAA.ie Footballer of the Week nominees

Kerry's David Clifford, Dublin's Ciaran Kilkenny, and Sligo's Niall Murphy are this week's GAA.ie Footballer of the Week nominees.

Kerry's David Clifford, Dublin's Ciaran Kilkenny, and Sligo's Niall Murphy are this week's GAA.ie Footballer of the Week nominees.

This week’s nominees for GAA.ie Footballer of the Week are Kerry’s David Clifford, Dublin’s Ciarán Kilkenny, and Sligo’s Niall Murphy.

The voting process is simple: like their image on the GAA's official Instagram page.

Voting will close at 10am on Tuesday, March 15, and the winner will be announced on GAA.

David Clifford (Kerry)

Not even two-time Young Footballer of the Year, Oisin Mullin, could contain Clifford in Saturday evening’s high-octane Allianz Football League clash between Kerry and Mayo. The Kingdom attacker finished the match with six points, four of them from play, and his movement and finishing was a joy to watch.

Ciaran Kilkenny (Dublin)

Kilkenny was at the heart of Dublin’s first League win of the season against Tyrone. He scored two points from play, but it was his huge work-ethic that really stood out, both in a defensive as well as attacking sense.

Niall Murphy (Sligo)

Niall Murphy has started the season in red-hot form for Sligo and produced another master-class in their dominant Division 4 Allianz Football League win over London. He finished with a personal tally of 2-5, all but one point of it from play.

Players of the Week are decided based on votes cast by followers of the Official GAA Instagram page.
