Late points from Dylan McConnell and Stephen Mooney secured victory for Monaghan over Armagh.

A 53rd minute pointed free from Armagh's Aaron O'Neill levelled matters, but Monaghan responded to carve out a win.

It was tight throughout as Armagh led by 0-5 to 0-4 at the break following a keenly contested first half.

When the action recommenced Brendan O'Hagan steered Armagh two clear, but Monaghan clipped three in a row to move in front with nine minutes remaining courtesy of Cian Conlon.

Armagh got back on terms, but Monaghan eventually prevailed as McConnell and Mooney struck vital points.
