DOWN 1-16 ANTRIM 0-11

Down cruised to a convincing win over Antrim at St Tiernach's Park.

An Ulster Quarter-Final against Tyrone now beckons for Down, who controlled most of the game in Clones.

Leading by 0-5 to 0-3 after 19 minutes, Down pulled clear before half-time reeling off five points without reply.

Seamus Loughran and Ross Carr contributed important scores as Down departed armed with a seven point advantage.

That cushion was subsequently extended to 12 in the 51st minute when Aaron Devlin blasted an opportunistic goal.

Antrim battled until the end with Rory Brolly and Eoghan McCabe firing over sweet late consolation efforts from play, but Down closed out the deal with the minimum of fuss.
