Dublin retained the All Ireland SFC title in 2016.

All Ireland Champions Dublin will face Carlow or Wexford in a Leinster Championship Quarter-Final in 2017.

Jim Gavin's team, who retained the Sam Maguire Cup with an October 1 replay success over Mayo, await the winners of the First Round encounter involving Wexford and Carlow.

Beaten All Ireland Finalists Mayo will play the winners of Sligo and New York in a Connacht Quarter-Final. Tom Parsons is adamant that the western province is a 'really competitive' environment. "I keep saying it, Galway showed their worth, they beat us on merit. I'd say they were disappointed with their performance against Tipperary.

"Roscommon showed well through their League campaign in Division One, and they will get more experience in Division One."

In Ulster Monaghan and Fermanagh meet in the Preliminary Round with Cavan awaiting the winners. Tyrone's Quarter-Final encounter with Derry is the standout game, while significant interest will surround Down's match against Armagh.

Munster Champions Kerry will face a Semi-Final against the winners of Limerick and Clare down south.

Cork meet Waterford in the Quarter-Final with the victors going on to face 2016 All Ireland Semi-Finalists Tipperary.

Premier County boss Liam Kearns feels that Tipperary can build on a hugely encouraging campaign. "That is the aim, we would hope to have a lot more players available than this year," Kearns said. "If we can get (Peter) Acheson and one or two more back we will be as strong if not stronger."
