Jonjo Farrell was instrumental as Kilkenny registered a commanding Group 2 win over Antrim at Abbotstown.

Farell bagged two goals and created another for the Cats, who were firmly in control throughout.

Aided by two early goals from Jonjo Farrell and Ollie Walsh, Brian Cody's Kilkenny outfit led at half-time by 2-12 to 0-10.

After the restart Farrell, Richie Leahy (2), and Richie Hogan added goals for a dominant Kilkenny.

Jack Galvin netted a goal for Westmeath in Kinnegad as the midlanders’ eventually overcame DCU’s spirited resistance.

Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford chalked up a second successive victory at Netwatch Cullen Park. Second half goals from Paul Morris (2) and Podge Doran were decisive for Wexford, who finished strongly.

Colm Bonnar's Carlow produced a spirited first half with four Denis Murphy points helping them into a 0-10 to 0-9 interval advantage against Wexford.

The complexion changed significantly in the second period with Wexford seizing control after a smart 38th minute Morris goal.

In Group 4 Offaly and IT Carlow played out an entertaining draw at Birr, while Meath shaded a good game with Kildare by a point.

Laois set up a winner takes all Group 1 clash next weekend with Galway following another triumph over  DIT at Rathdowney.

Neil Foyle, Patrick Whelan, Willie Dunphy, and Stephen Bergin scored goals for Eamonn Kelly’s team.
