Malachy O’Rourke will stay on as Monaghan football team manager until 2020.

Monaghan GAA last night announced the news that O’Rourke had agreed a one-year extension to his previous arrangement.

The Fermanagh man first took charge of the Farney County for the 2013 season and led them to the Ulster title that year and again in 2015.

This year he guided Monaghan to their first All-Ireland SFC semi-final since 1988 where they came up just short against Tyrone by a single point.
