AIB All Ireland Club SFC Quarter-Final

COROFIN (GALWAY) 3-8 FULHAM IRISH (LONDON) 1-4

Kevin O'Brien's Corofin survived an early scare before eventually claiming a convincing win at McGovern Park, Ruislip.

The Galway and Connacht champions were rocked in the first five minutes as a determined Fulham Irish struck 1-1 without reply.

That provided Fulham Irish, managed by former Down star Greg McCartan, with plenty of encouragement, but Corofin recovered.

Marty Hughes pinched a goal for Fulham Irish, but Corofin replied registering three majors of their own before the break.

Liam Silke converted a 10th minute penalty, while Colin Brady, and Ian Burke also rattled the Fulham Irish as Corofin led 3-3 to 1-3 at the interval.

After the restart Fulham Irish remained spirited, but Jason Leonard, Cathal Silke, Ronan Steede, and Martin Farragher added points.

Corofin will now face Moorefield in what promises to be an interesting encounter at the penultimate stage next month.
