Favourites Castlebar Mitchels eventually overcame a spirited Mohill outfit.

Mitchels, who recently completed a three in a row in Mayo, were given a fright by a determined Mohill in the first half.

Late opening period points from David Stenson (free) and Eoghan O'Reilly ensured Mitchels led at the break by 0-7 to 0-5.

It was similarly tight in the third quarter as Mohill responded following Castlebar scores from Barry Moran and Danny Kirby.

Oisin Madden, Keith Beirne (2), and Ronan Kennedy rifled over points to draw Mohill level by the 45th minute.

But Mitchels struck seven points on the spin with Neil Douglas prominent to set up a semi-final meeting against Tourlestrane.
